De la petite section de maternelle à la terminale, le LFI Tokyo propose un enseignement fondé sur les programmes officiels du ministère français de l’Éducation nationale, au sein d’une communauté scolaire internationale réunissant plus de 60 nationalités.
1. COMMENT INSCRIRE MON ENFANT AU LFI TOKYO ?
La première étape consiste à effectuer une préinscription en ligne via la plateforme Eduka et à transmettre les documents demandés. Les dossiers sont ensuite examinés en fonction des critères d’admission définis par l’établissement et des places disponibles.
La décision d’admission est communiquée aux familles par courriel. Après acceptation, l’inscription est finalisée selon les modalités administratives et financières indiquées par le LFI Tokyo.
2. FAUT-IL PARLER FRANÇAIS POUR ENTRER AU LFI TOKYO ?
Le français constitue la principale langue de scolarisation, mais tous les élèves n’ont pas nécessairement le français comme langue maternelle.
Le LFI Tokyo accueille des profils linguistiques variés et propose notamment un accompagnement en français langue de scolarisation (FLSco) pour certains élèves nouvellement arrivés. Le dispositif tient compte de l’âge, du niveau linguistique et du parcours scolaire de chaque enfant.
3. COMBIEN COÛTE LA SCOLARITÉ AU LFI TOKYO ?
Les frais de scolarité sont fixés chaque année et varient notamment selon le niveau de classe et certains parcours ou dispositifs spécifiques.
La grille tarifaire officielle est publiée sur le site du LFI Tokyo. Des frais complémentaires peuvent également s’appliquer, notamment lors d’une première inscription, d’une réinscription ou pour certains services.
4. LES ÉLÈVES JAPONAIS PEUVENT-ILS S’INSCRIRE AU LFI TOKYO ?
Oui. Le LFI Tokyo accueille des élèves français, japonais ainsi que des enfants de très nombreuses autres nationalités.
Plus de 60 nationalités sont représentées au sein de l’établissement. La nationalité française peut constituer l’un des critères pris en compte lors de l’admission, mais le LFI Tokyo n’est pas réservé aux seuls élèves français.
5. QUELLES LANGUES SONT ENSEIGNÉES AU LFI TOKYO ?
Le français, l’anglais et le japonais constituent les principaux piliers du parcours linguistique proposé aux élèves.
Au secondaire, l’offre linguistique s’élargit notamment à l’allemand et à l’espagnol. Selon leur niveau et leur projet, les élèves peuvent également intégrer des parcours renforcés, des Sections Internationales américaine ou japonaise et, au lycée, préparer le Baccalauréat Français International (BFI).
6. À PARTIR DE QUEL ÂGE PEUT-ON ENTRER AU LFI TOKYO ?
Le LFI Tokyo accueille les enfants dès la petite section de maternelle, à partir de 3 ans.
L’établissement propose ensuite une continuité pédagogique jusqu’à la classe de terminale et à la préparation du baccalauréat français.
7. QUEL PROGRAMME SCOLAIRE EST ENSEIGNÉ AU LFI TOKYO ?
Le LFI Tokyo dispense les programmes officiels du ministère français de l’Éducation nationale, de la maternelle à la terminale.
Membre du réseau de l’AEFE – Agence pour l’enseignement français à l’étranger, l’établissement associe les exigences académiques du système éducatif français à un environnement international, plurilingue et multiculturel.
8. PEUT-ON INSCRIRE SON ENFANT DEPUIS L’ÉTRANGER ?
Oui. La procédure de préinscription peut être réalisée en ligne depuis l’étranger via Eduka.
Pour une scolarisation effective au LFI Tokyo, les familles doivent toutefois respecter les conditions administratives et de résidence applicables au Japon.
9. COMMENT FONCTIONNE L’ADMISSION ET Y A-T-IL UNE LISTE D’ATTENTE ?
Les admissions sont prononcées dans la limite des places disponibles.
Plusieurs éléments peuvent être pris en considération : parcours scolaire antérieur, scolarisation dans le système français ou le réseau AEFE, présence d’un frère ou d’une sœur dans l’établissement, nationalité, situation familiale et date de réception du dossier complet.
Lorsque la capacité d’un niveau est atteinte, une liste d’attente peut être constituée.
10. EXISTE-T-IL DES BOURSES SCOLAIRES ?
Oui. Les élèves de nationalité française résidant au Japon peuvent, sous certaines conditions, solliciter une bourse scolaire française auprès des services consulaires.
L’attribution dépend notamment de la situation financière de la famille et des règles définies par les autorités françaises et l’AEFE.
Le LFI Tokyo accompagne les familles dans leurs démarches administratives, mais la décision d’attribution ne relève pas de l’établissement.
11. QUELS SONT LES HORAIRES ET LE CALENDRIER SCOLAIRE ?
Au primaire, les enseignements débutent le matin et se poursuivent jusqu’en milieu ou fin d’après-midi selon les jours. Le mercredi bénéficie d’une organisation spécifique.
Au secondaire, les horaires varient en fonction des emplois du temps des élèves.
Le calendrier scolaire officiel, avec les périodes de cours, vacances et principales dates de l’année, est publié chaque année sur le site du LFI Tokyo.
12. LE LFI TOKYO DISPOSE-T-IL D’UNE CANTINE ? PEUT-ON APPORTER UN BENTO ?
Oui. Le LFI Tokyo dispose d’un service de restauration scolaire largement utilisé par les élèves.
Les familles peuvent également, selon le niveau de scolarisation et les modalités en vigueur, choisir d’apporter un bento.
Une attention particulière est portée aux allergies, aux besoins alimentaires spécifiques et aux éventuelles contraintes médicales.
13. LE LFI TOKYO PROPOSE-T-IL DES BUS SCOLAIRES ?
Oui. Un réseau de bus scolaires dessert différents secteurs de Tokyo afin de faciliter les déplacements quotidiens des élèves.
Les inscriptions sont effectuées selon les modalités communiquées par l’établissement et restent soumises au nombre de places disponibles sur chaque ligne.
14. EXISTE-T-IL UNE GARDERIE ET DES ACTIVITÉS PÉRISCOLAIRES ?
Oui. Le LFI Tokyo propose des solutions de garderie ainsi qu’un large choix d’activités périscolaires.
Selon les années et les niveaux, les élèves peuvent participer à de nombreuses activités : sports, arts, musique, langues, sciences, création ou encore activités culturelles.

15. QUELS DIPLÔMES OBTIENNENT LES ÉLÈVES ET QUELS SONT LES RÉSULTATS DU LFI TOKYO ?
Les élèves préparent notamment le Diplôme national du brevet, puis le baccalauréat français.
Selon leur parcours, ils peuvent également préparer le Baccalauréat Français International (BFI).
Le LFI Tokyo affiche régulièrement d’excellents résultats aux examens nationaux, avec notamment 100 % de réussite au baccalauréat en 2026.

From Preschool through Grade 12, LFI Tokyo follows the official French Ministry of Education curriculum within an international school community representing more than 60 nationalities.
1. HOW CAN I ENROL MY CHILD AT LFI TOKYO?
The first step is to submit an online pre-registration application through Eduka, together with the required supporting documents.
Applications are then reviewed according to the school’s admission criteria and available capacity. Families are notified by email of the admission decision.
Following an offer, enrolment is finalised according to the school’s administrative and financial procedures.
2. DOES MY CHILD NEED TO SPEAK FRENCH TO JOIN LFI TOKYO?
French is the main language of instruction, but not all students are native French speakers.
LFI Tokyo welcomes students from a wide range of linguistic backgrounds and provides French as a Language of Schooling (FLSco) support for certain newly arrived students.
Support is adapted to each child’s age, language level and previous educational background.
3. HOW MUCH ARE TUITION FEES AT LFI TOKYO?
Tuition fees are determined each year and vary according to grade level and, where applicable, specific academic programmes or services.
The official fee schedule is published on the LFI Tokyo website. Additional charges may apply for first enrolment, re-enrolment or optional services.
4. CAN JAPANESE STUDENTS ENROL AT LFI TOKYO?
Yes. LFI Tokyo welcomes French, Japanese and many other nationalities.
More than 60 nationalities are represented within the school community. French nationality may be one of the criteria considered during admissions, but the school is not restricted to French students.
5. WHICH LANGUAGES ARE TAUGHT AT LFI TOKYO?
French, English and Japanese form the main pillars of the language curriculum.
At secondary level, students may also study languages including German and Spanish.
Depending on their level and academic goals, students may join enhanced language pathways, the American or Japanese International Sections and, at upper-secondary level, prepare for the French International Baccalaureate (BFI).
6. FROM WHAT AGE CAN CHILDREN JOIN LFI TOKYO?
Children can join LFI Tokyo from the age of 3 in Petite Section Preschool.
They can then continue their education at the school through Grade 12 and the French Baccalaureate.
7. WHICH CURRICULUM DOES LFI TOKYO FOLLOW?
LFI Tokyo follows the official curriculum of the French Ministry of Education, from Preschool through Grade 12.
As part of the AEFE – Agency for French Education Abroad network, the school combines the academic standards of the French education system with a highly international, multilingual and multicultural environment.
8. CAN FAMILIES APPLY FROM ABROAD?
Yes. Families may complete the pre-registration procedure online from abroad through Eduka.
Families must subsequently comply with the relevant administrative and residency requirements for schooling in Japan.
9. HOW DOES ADMISSION WORK AND IS THERE A WAITING LIST?
Admission is subject to available capacity.
Several factors may be taken into consideration, including previous schooling, attendance at a French or AEFE school, siblings already enrolled at LFI Tokyo, nationality, family circumstances and the date on which the complete application is received.
If a grade reaches full capacity, a waiting list may be established.
10. ARE SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE?
Yes. French-national students residing in Japan may, subject to eligibility requirements, apply for a French government school scholarship through the French Consular services.
Awards depend in particular on household financial circumstances and the applicable rules established by the French authorities and AEFE.
LFI Tokyo can assist families with the administrative procedure, but scholarship decisions are not made by the school.
11. WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL HOURS AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR?
At Primary School, lessons begin in the morning and continue into the afternoon, with a specific schedule on Wednesdays.
At Secondary School, schedules vary according to each student’s timetable.
The official school calendar, including school terms, holidays and key dates, is published annually on the LFI Tokyo website.
12. IS THERE A SCHOOL CANTEEN? CAN STUDENTS BRING A BENTO?
Yes. LFI Tokyo provides a school catering service used by a large proportion of students.
Depending on the student’s level and current arrangements, families may also choose to provide their own bento.
Particular attention is given to allergies, dietary requirements and medical needs.
13. DOES LFI TOKYO PROVIDE A SCHOOL BUS SERVICE?
Yes. LFI Tokyo operates a school bus network serving several areas of Tokyo.
Registration is completed according to procedures communicated by the school and remains subject to available capacity on each route.
14. ARE CHILDCARE AND AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE?
Yes. LFI Tokyo offers childcare services together with a broad range of after-school activities.
Depending on the school year and age group, students can take part in sports, arts, music, languages, science, creative and cultural activities.
These programmes complement the school day and encourage students to develop their interests, independence and creativity.
15. WHICH QUALIFICATIONS DO STUDENTS EARN AND WHAT ARE LFI TOKYO’S ACADEMIC RESULTS?
Students prepare for French national qualifications including the Diplôme National du Brevet and the French Baccalaureate.
Depending on their pathway, students may also prepare for the French International Baccalaureate (BFI).
LFI Tokyo consistently achieves strong national examination results, including a 100% Baccalaureate pass rate in 2026.

10. 奨学金制度はありますか？
はい。
日本に居住するフランス国籍の児童・生徒は、一定の条件を満たす場合、フランス政府の就学奨学金を申請できます。
支給の可否は、ご家庭の経済状況やフランス政府およびAEFEが定める基準等に基づいて審査されます。
